Portrait Photography for Jeeveshu “funny man” Ahluwalia
I was hired to do a family as well as individual portrait photography assignment for Jeeveshu and his mom. After planning for several weeks (two of my camera bodies melted during these weeks) we finally got around to set up a date/time for the shoot and I geared up as minimal as I could.
My gear contained two small softboxes, powered by Canon speedlites, that I primarily use for any kind of portrait photography. In addition to the softboxes, I carry a 5-in-1 reflector for all my shoots. It helps me create glow/fill lights in multiple colors and shades.
In portrait photography, it is important to create a source of fill light, whether it’s a reflector, another low-powered slave light, or just a bounce off of a wall.
Jeeveshu is an upcoming stand-up comedian. He just quit his job a few weeks ago to pursue his passion full time – that of laughing at himself and making people laugh – and he’s good, I mean Really Really Good.
So, here are some photos from the portrait photography shoot of Jeeveshu Ahluwalia
When your subject is naturally photogenic, your portrait photography work becomes easy. Jeeveshu is a natural, when it comes to the camera, and it shows in the photos.
At one point during the shoot, his mom suggested he wear something more apt to his profession – a funny man t-shirt, which he obliged us with, and here’s a picture of the T-Shirt (oh well, more of a vest, really!)
This portrait photography session was for Jeeveshu and his mom, so here are some photos of Jeevesu and his mom together in the local park.
Jeeveshu’s mom is equally funny and was thoroughly enjoying this portrait photography shoot. She even suggested a few different ideas, one of them being this place with beautiful flowers and the nice backdrop. Jeeveshu wasn’t convinced that she should hold the branch the way she is, and started to walk out the frame, when I got this photo.
How did you like my work on this session? Let me know in the comments below.
